Privilege
I was stopped by a cop today for doing something stupid on my motorcycle. I’m pretty sure he didn’t give me a ticket because I’m a clean-cut white guy. I know it is wrong, but I was really glad to be white at that moment.

You can’t make that privilege go away, so the best thing to do is just be aware of it. That certainly wouldn’t have occurred to many people. And being aware of the benefits of whiteness makes you less likely to use it against people in a more selfish way.
